Amer Sports Welcomes Christina Carvalho and Omar Obaisi
Amer Sports (NYSE: AS), a global group of iconic sports and outdoor brands, made two recent appointments to their Finance executive leadership team. Amer named Christina Carvalho as Chief Accounting Officer and Omar Obaisi as Vice President & Global Head of Internal Audit.
Carvalho joins Amer Sports from Booking Holdings where she most recently served as the Vice President, Assistant Controller and GPO Record-to-Report. Previously, she held finance leadership roles at Blue Buffalo and Carter’s/OshKosh B’gosh. Carvalho earned her BS, Accounting from University of Connecticut.
Obaisi has a successful track record in transforming and improving audit departments across multiple industry sectors. He joins Amer Sports from Univar Solutions where he helped support a $8b+ acquisition by Apollo Global Management in March 2023. At Univar, he led the global internal audit team and was responsible for the shared services functions that spanned operations, finance, SOX compliance, and ERM. Prior Omar held additional roles at IAA, TreeHouse Foods, and The WhiteWave Foods Company. He holds an MBA and BS, Accounting from The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
