Matt Steele Appointed as New Senior Vice President, Business Development for Avio USA
Avio USA, the American start-up arm of a leading international group specializing in space launchers and solid, liquid, and cryogenic propulsion systems, has appointed Matt Steele as Senior Vice President, Business Development.
With more than four decades of business development experience across the aerospace, defense, and space industries, Steele has built a career driving strategic growth, capturing complex government and commercial programs, and expanding market opportunities for leading organizations.
Before joining Avio USA, Steele held senior business development leadership roles at Voyager Technologies, Valley Tech Systems, and Aerojet Rocketdyne, where he spent several years leading domestic and international business development efforts. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President of Business Development at Alaska Aerospace Corporation, securing major government and commercial contracts, expanding international partnerships, and helping position the organization as a leader in space launch services. He also founded Phoenix Astro, a strategic consulting firm advising aerospace companies on business development, capture management, proposal strategy, and long-term growth planning.
Steele holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physics from Kent State University and served as a Captain and Pershing Missile Maintenance Officer in the U.S. Army.
